For those of you new to this website, my name is Phella. I’m a young guy from right outside of Washington DC. I’m an artist first. I also scout talent for other companies as well as represent a select group of individuals under my company Da Fam Inc. I’ve worked with some names you probably recognize and some that you will recognize sooner or later. Overall I’m just another guy trying to “make it”. Actually I like to think I’ve already “made it”.
The original purpose of this site when I started it a year and a half ago was to make money. That didn’t work. I wasn’t willing to put in the effort it takes to update a website constantly to have a huge following that will attract advertisers. That would mean posting things I don’t quite believe in and one thing I never do is compromise my beliefs. Not for money, not for blog views, music downloads, fame, or anything else. I have lots of thoughts. I’m someone who is always learning and part of that learning is to put stuff out there in the world and see how others feel about it. So far so good.
I thank everyone who frequents the site, especially those that comment on a regular basis. If you look over to the right I have links to a few more places on the net where you can find me. I also have links to several of my friends websites. Most of them think along the same lines as I do so you will find their stuff interesting as well. Once again thanks for coming and stay tuned.
I’ve been doing this blogging thing for a year now and I don’t really get into my fam much but I have to put everyone on to my cousin Iyabo. She’s a model and she’s really doing her thing. In this business everyday you run into aspiring models but a lot of times it’s just girls who take one or two pics and think some how that makes them the next Naomi. Iyabo really puts in her work and does shoots of all kinds. She’s been featured in many different publications and also several fashion shows. Not to mention she’s also an engineer, used to play high school basketball and an overall good person. She’s doing the thing!
The Phella book is going to be a CRAZY one trust me. I’ve erased a total of four blogs this weekend. The one unforunate part of having a career in which your reputation matters so much, is that you have no choice but to censor yourself at times. The more and more you climb up the ladder, the less you can/should say. Being the extremist that I am, I know if I start on certain subjects, I’ll tell all of it…..then the walls of Jericho will come tumbling down. So I’ll chill. But please buy the book. We’re looking at a 2012 release if we make it that far. Right around my 25th birthday.
DC has been insane for the past 4 days. Our people have NEVER seen this many celebs, lol. You don’t know how many “I just saw Jay-Z texts” I’ve received. For the most part I’ve layed low;who knows me knows how much I oppose “the cool”. I’m a bit worried that some are losing sight of the main reason for all of this, but it’s cool I guess. People have been down for so long, it’s good to see the city so bright once again. Go head and pop those bottles and wear those tight dresses..especially the latter.
Shout out to B.o.b too by the way. Had a chance to chat with him briefly last week. I didn’t know he was now with Grand Hustle. That’s my favorite click in all of music. Young Dro we NEED that album!!!!! Happy MLK Day to all out there especially the man himself, Martin Luther King Jr. I hope Obama and all of us who strive for equality and justice are making you proud.

I’ll let you continue to front for people because I actually want to see you acheive some success and find happiness in life. You gossip just a bit too much for a 21 year old male and the people you gossip to, well they gossip even more..lol. In regards to the blog from two days ago about falling back from industry work a bit to enjoy “the normal side of life”? Nonsense. Like I said I’m too much of an extremist to balance “the grind” with “the regular stuff”. And despite all the ills that come with it, I got on the grind for specific reasons and can’t/shouldn’t let up till the mission is complete. Besides, what’s the point of going so hard at something for two years and then slowing up right before the finish line?
Sidenote:Shout out to a lot of the people who I’ve been back and forth with recently via e-mail/text/blogs over the last week. Lots of innovative minds out there doing lots of great things. I feel responsible, at least partly, for providing them a platform to do what they do on a solid stage. Bare with me ya’ll….I got us.

Here in the DC/MD area we have a specialty spanish food store called Red Apple. It’s where most people get things like vegetables and stuff for the low. Well some lady that’s kind of close to my family went there with her husband to purchase some vegetables and fruit the other night and it ended in tragedy. They get there and she puts her hand into a box full of okra and something pricked her hand. She continued shopping assuming it was just a needle or something. On the ride home her hand began to swell up but still her and her husband did nothing. Finally the whole entire hand swole up and they headed to the hospital….a lil bit too late. Turns out it was a snake that bit her and whatever venom or disease it had spread to her heart and she died.
Not saying there’s anything wrong with specialty food stores or Red Apple in particular…just saying be careful out here. Crazy stuff going on.
