Felt like I was wasting away during this whole Blizzard debacle, so I decided to hit up my goto guy for beats, J.Rob. Within minutes he sent me back a track, and within a few more minutes I had a basic sketch in my head for how I want it to sound.
I wanted to live stream myself working on the track from beginning to end so people could see the process but I couldn’t get it to work. Probably for the better anyway. I’m trying to be more open these days with my creativity but that might be a bit much.
I like this video for a bunch of reasons. The song is fresh, it reps my home land Nigeria, and I recognize like ten people in the video. Reminds me of a party I went to in Atlanta not too long ago.
Three new videos. First one explaining my project Winter Wonderland which is coming in a few weeks. Second one is previewing the intro track to the project. Final video is announcing and explaining my move to New Jersey.
Besides YouTube, these vids are on quite a few sites and the feedback overall has been very positive, especially in regards to the music, which obviously will sound a thousand times better once recorded and mixed…..I don’t think people quite understand the move yet…that’s cool because I don’t quite understand it yet either.
Man what Malice of the Clipse has been doing of late is nothing short of great. The man has taken it upon himself to school the youth on the pitfalls of the drug game as well the rap game. Show them that it’s not all it’s made out to be. It’s no secret that himself and his brother are two of the people I look up to the most. Anytime I ever even contemplate dumbing down my art or simplifying it to meet today’s standards I look at these guys and it makes me want to be even more complex and intricate. These dudes are as close to Langston Hughes as we will come in this modern day era and I thank them for that.
If you watch this video you will see the name Anthony “Geezy” Gonzalez a few times. He’s the Clipse’ manager and good friend who was recently indicted on numerous counts of drug trafficking. I pray and hope he returns soon. He’s someone who I had the pleasure of talking to on the phone a few times and he was the absolute coolest person ever. Even right up to the week the story broke he was still responding to my texts and carrying on with business like nothing happened. A true stand up guy.
After being dogged 5-0, some snot nose punk tried to imply that Kobe would get waxed if he went to LeBrons camp. Black Mamba simply took a chuckle and replied “what does that even mean?”. He then said “I’ll tell you one thing, you aint dunking on me at my camp”, in reference to LeBron getting teabagged at his camp last week by some kid.
Was chillin in VA for most of today. This is some of what transpired. Not pictured is a basketball game that went down. My victim was a LeBron James fan so naturally the footage dissapeared. Just know that I won and it wasn’t pretty. I’m taking on all challengers in any city in any of the following: Basketball, Skateboarding, Pool, NBA 2K9, and Taboo.
