Sooner Or LATER….part 2

I’m a firm believer in never letting anyone get the best of you. One group that always seems to get the best of me is At&t. Remember this from a few months back? They always hit me with these outrageous bills when I need my phone the most. I’m sick of it.

What would you do in my shoes? Keep paying because you need your phone for a living? Or risk losing business and don’t pay? But then if I don’t pay, what other options do I have?…they need to bring telegrams back.

I think you already know how the song goes:

Random Phella Quote-Dec 4th

“I love being single when the world gets cold though/f*ck iced tea I just need some hot coco”-Phella (Unreleased freestyle)

Pretty Self-Explanatory. You wouldn’t drink iced tea in the cold would you?

B.O.B-Autotune

Shout out to the homie man. Dude is doing his thing. This is hilarious. And Wayne’s cool and all but I think it’s about time someone pointed out that laughing after each average punchline doesn’t make it hot.

Words From…Phella…Leaving!Leave?Left!

One of the more creative and classy sites on the web offered me a chance to get honest for a second so I seized it.

Random Phella Quote

“You Ain’t Gotta Front Or Stand In The Back”-Phella (SITC Intro)

I think what I meant is a lot of times people feel they have to put on a front to succeed (“dancing all in the videos” like my dude Sean would say). Then other times people have great qualities but they’re scared to step to the front with it so they play the back hoping, praying and wishing. Neither extreme will get a person too far.

December 1st

I started yesterday like any other person would start off their first of the month. Rolled out of bed and put this song on repeat. (Bone Thugs N Harmony-1st Of The Month for those too lazy to click).

I felt great!!!! It was the 1st day of the last month, the release of Colin Munroe’s project, a new Clipse mixtape and most importantly another day above ground.

One bump in the road was the resignation of one of the strongest members our Famous Firm team had. He decided to go in another direction which is respected but it’s always unfortunate to see someone not finish something they helped build. On the other hand, I know that sometimes leaving can be the most liberating and empowering thing we can do. Everytime I’ve justifiably left something or someone (college, my moms house, girls, sugar, “friends” etc ), it’s usually difficult for a bit but the results have always been favorable in the end.

The good part about this business is you rarely have time to stop and think. The bad part is you rarely have time to stop and think. So as the saying goes, the show must go on. Colin Munroe’s mixtape was the next item on deck. It seems every blog picked it up and the feedback has been outstanding thus far. Shout out to Colin, his manager Andrew, and Sickamore for allowing me to brand the project.

After the dust settled from Colin’s stuff I hit the gym up and got a crazy workout in. This whole no sugar thing is working out better than I expected.

The next few hours were spent driving a rented Ford Explorer for reasons I don’t even think I can explain. Things just got crazy like they always do.

Then I went to every Staples and Office Depot looking for Glossy Paper so I can make a hard copy of the Colin mixtape for Pusha….let’s just say I’m not an arts and crafts major. I ran through about 10 sheets of glossy paper trying to cut it so it could fit inside a cd case. Then finally I gave up and just took the case and the cover separately.

Once that saga was over I reunited with my regular car and headed down to The Play Cloths Release party in DC. There’s a 70/30 chance that I’ll be doing some work with The Clipse plus I’m a fan so going to these events is nothing. This one had a lot of people in attendance. Knotts, The Neptunes, Wale, Tabi Bonney, Raheem Devaughn and my dude Jabari were all in the building.

*sidenote:There was this very beautiful young lady with dreads and a yellow shirt. I (possibly) saw her giving me the eye but I was working at the time. When I finally had time to go holla, she had dissapeared. If you’re reading this, hit me up. (Shouts to Capicu VA, he took a pic of her. Cue “What You Like” by Phella

I made my cameraman debut at the event. Some of you probably know Jabari for doing tons of interviews in the hip hop world. He didn’t have a camera with him, and I had mine in the car so we got some good footage for HipHopGame.

In the midst of this long confusing day, I missed plenty of calls, e-mails, and texts. So I dedicated 2am-4am to watching Fresh Prince and responding to everyone. Thanks for all the support of The Unsung Hero tape.
